Wicksteed Playgrounds was pleased to design, supply and install this brand new play area as part of their ongoing Framework agreement with Newry Mourne and Down District Council. It is located in a housing development, close to a special needs school on top of a hill overlooking Newry city. The Council wanted an exciting and challenging play area, with inclusive play items. We also took into account the community consultation information provided. A nautical theme was decided upon, featuring a central wetpour island with a large bespoke multi play unit with tube slide. The other equipment was located around this island, making use of grass mat safety surfacing.There were challenges to overcome during the installation such as unexpected rock and working with the different levels on site.
