December 19, 2019

It’s great to let your hair down now and again so what better place to have the annual end of year sales meeting than at Wicksteed Park! Wicksteed Playgrounds made full use of the parks excellent conference facilities and followed the meeting with an afternoon spent at the Clip and Climb play attraction where our Area Sales Managers conquered 28 different challenges on a variety of colourful and unique climbing walls.

This was not an afternoon for the faint-hearted with the sales managers racing to beat the clock on timed climbing walls and finishing the day with a leap of faith from a free-standing platform!

Wicksteed understands the importance of play so letting our sales managers be big kids for the afternoon was the ideal activity for a company with over 100 years of play experience.

More than just a name

Wicksteed Park and Wicksteed Playgrounds share more than just a name. Both were created by Charles Wicksteed in the early part of the 20th Century with Wicksteed Playgrounds created in 1918 and the park opening in 1921. The play park and Wicksteed Playgrounds continue to thrive to this day.

Wicksteed Playgrounds is now the UK’s No1 playground equipment supplier and manufacturer with play areas installed throughout the UK and several areas around the world most notably next to the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa! Wicksteed Park continues to welcome thousands of visitors each year to see the numerous attractions on offer and its beautiful surroundings.

Investment in play

Wicksteed Playgrounds and Wicksteed Park have seen substantial investment over the last couple of years which is great news for the economy and people of Kettering and the surrounding areas. We’re certain that Charles Wicksteed would be incredibly happy to see his creations still doing so well after all these years.
